Monster Jam Flies Into Amalie Arena
Last Saturday Monster Jam visited Amalie Arena for it’s second year in a row and turned to be a success. 2 shows, 1 pit party, and lots of unscripted fun was the afternoon and evening.
The 1pm show saw it as a bad showing for Myranda Cozad and Scooby-Doo as the engine blew out in the introduction. She also had bad luck with the other parts of the triple threat competition, but managed to make a showing to please the fans in the evening show.
The afternoon show saw Tony Ochs taking it all by in Soldier Fortune Black Ops by edging fan favorite Grave Digger by only 1 point. Soldier Fortune Black Ops led the way with his donuts which by far was a crowd pleaser for the afternoon. Grave Digger,
driven by Tyler Menninga, did win the racing, 2 wheeler, and freestyle, but the poor showing on the speedster and ATV allowed Tony to pull out the event win over him.
The evening show saw the full slates of trucks performing as Scooby-Doo got all fixed up and ready to go. Colton Echelberger showed up in the evening and edged out Grave Digger by only 2 points in the overall standing for the event win. Even though Max-D did not win any individual event, Colton was able to keep near the top of each event to gather the points to pull out the win. Grave Digger did win the Freestlyle and 2-Wheel competition where Soldier Fortune Black Ops won the Racing. Scooby-Doo did show he was all better by taking the donut competition.
Overall, Monsterjam Triple Threat Series was a hit for the fans and this August weekend. I like it here as it is a teaser for the stadium events right around the corner in January and February at Raymond James Stadium. If you have never seen an event live, DO NOT miss out!!!!!
