A hippo is defined by wikipedia as a large, mostly herbivorous semi-aquatic mammal native to sub-Saharan Africa.  Wait, this is at St.Armand’s Circle in Sarasota, and the spelling is Hyppo? What is that?   It is a new tradition of a Popsicle that will set a new standard in gourmet ice pops.

Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops opened it’s 12th store and the first one in the Sarasota market on St.Armand’s Circle last December. This is not just any Popsicle though. All ice pops are handmade with natural ingredients. No preservatives. It leads to a delightful and delicious experience in the one you choose to try, or you can try them all. Or attempt to. Jeremy, the manager of the St. Armands location says that every visit will bring you with a different variety of flavors. Hyppo has over 450 flavors that rotate yearly and the store has about 50 of them at a given time.

Being established in 2010 and on it’s 12th location, this is a perfect pairing for the Florida weather. I myself tried the Blueberry Lavender Lemonade as recommended by the employee and they did not miss the mark. The flavors were intense and an experience. Another one I tried was the Peach & Datil Honey (which is made from the Florida Datil Pepper). It has a kick in it but keeps it’s delicious flavoring. So i ended my Banilla Vanana the vanilla / banana flavoring and yes, I had it dipped in chocolate.
