The Marvel Universe Saves Tampa
Marvel Universe Live started in Tampa this past evening at Amalie Arena for the first of 6 performances this weekend. This is a show featuring the famous Marvel characters such as the Avengers, Spider-Man, The Guardians of the Galaxy, and the villain counterparts. What results is a Feld Entertainment has brought something to the arena that will end up being a mainstay that was 100% better than the first go around.
lot of action.
I saw the first Marvel universe Live about 3 years ago and I did enjoy it. I also saw the faults in it. The storyline seemed forced and lost at times, too much action
taking place at once that it seemed to get lost, and characters were involved in the main plot that did not seem as if they belonged. The Age of Heroes fixed this by making a storyline that was not forced and made sense, as well as easy to follow. All the clutter that was around the arena that resulted in characters getting lost disappeared. What was there was necessary and had much more impact. The mapping of the back screen and how it melded with the arena was done to perfection. If I rated the first go around as an A, The Age of Heroes came about as an A++.
Feld kept the huge cast of characters to insure your favorite Marvel hero or villain was present, as well as presenting them in a scene that worked with the story. It was, and this is most important, sensible and enjoyable. From the moment Doctor Strange floated into the middle of the arena to the added appearance of the Guardians of the Galaxy was a huge treat for most fans on the heels of those two movies. As with the movies, Groot and Rocket Raccoon, which at one time were always in the nickel bins at any given comic store, were very popular and probably the highlight of the evening.
The scripting was perfect and the action was awesome. As you can see the actors take a lot of time practicing the choreography to insure it is as realistic as possible during the live show.
It pays off!!! the Motorcycle scenes were well done and full of daredevil stunts and the special effects ….. WOW!!!
