Lowry Park Zoo’s Sunset Celebration
Lowry Park Zoo is debuting the Sunset Celebration this evening. This is a new venture from the zoo which will be a 10 evening engagement on Fridays and Saturdays from July 8th – to August 6th. This event is designed to allow the family to enjoy the zoo in a totally different light. There will be a entertainment, animals, beer, food, and a laser light show to end it all.
The food that will be offered is a variety, but will include a aged cheese and meat platter, bourbon-glazed chicken skewers, bacon pepper jack mac and cheese, and beer battered grouper with a lemon basil tartar sauce. There will also be over 40 types of domestic and craft beers, more than 20 types of wine, slushies for the young ones, and a variety of Coke products.
Entertainment, of course, has to be prresent for a celebration and entertainment there will be. Each weekend will have a tribute band performing. Opening weekend will be featuring Bluffet, a Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band that will promise to have the conga lines going.
Also on the opening weekend is Tampa’s favorite magician Frank Davis, who is known to bring the smile out of people of all ages during his shows. Also keep a look out for the roaming “tumble monkeys” in the zoo, but beware, they do like the food that has been made for this event. There will also be DJ’s dancers, stilt walkers, and hula hoop artists.
Sunset Celebration is included with your daily admission at the zoo and festivities start at 4:00pm and end at 10:00pm. It is also included in your daily admission. It is also included if you are an annual passholder, or even a zooperpass holder. Not a passholder and just want to come to the event? The Lowry Park Zoo has created a ticket option just to do that also. There is a way to allow everyone to enjoy this unique event.
By the way, yes, there will be animals present too. After all, this is a zoo. See animals such as the Malayan Tapirs, Indian Rhinos, Malayan Tigers, or the beautiful Clouded Leopards. The keepers say that some of these animals love it at night and this gives us the opportunity to see the animals in a new and unique way. End the evening with a laser light show not to be seen anywhere else.
