Grave Digger Buried The Opposition
When the racing was over, you just had a feeling that Saturday night was going to be something special. MonsterJam once again roared into Raymond James Stadium and wow’d the crowd as those trucks do every year. Racing was first on the menu and Damon Bradshaw in Monster Energy just edged out Grave Digger when Adam Anderson lost control in the final turn. This win resulted in Damon taking home the points for the night. What about the freestyle though?
The freestyle competition was nothing short of amazing. Becky McDonough cam out strong in El Toro loco and showed the crowd that being the only woman in tonight’s field was not going to stop her. She had an amazing run and was the only truck to attempt the back flip. Not only that, this was Becky’s first attempt at a back flip also. Even though she failed, her points set the tone for what everyone else had to do to win this competition.
Tom Meents in Max-D did a sky-wheelie over 3 monster trucks. I have never seen anything like this ever, and it was a feat to behold.
Max-D then went on to an amazing freestyle run to take the point lead that looked like only a run with a few back flips in it could surpass him.
Damon Bradshaw, wanting to go double down came out with an unbelievable run himself. When complete it was obvious the crowd felt he was shafted on the points, but his score got him into a close second with the infamous Grave Digger to come; and come Grave Digger did do. A run that had the crowd standing and cheering near the end gave Grave Digger the points to win the freestyle and take home the points. Adam Anderson is loving the trade before this season and it is obvious he is loving the ride of Grave Digger. I cannot wait to see him get back to the legend, but enjoying the fun he is having now.
MonsterJam will be back Feb 6th with 16 new trucks to wow and amaze you. If you have not gotten them already, be sure to get your tickets now and see part 2 of this amazing presentation these drivers do for us.
