TreeHoppers is Here

TreeHoppers Opens Grand

Upon leaving I-75 with a short jaunt through some beautiful country you finally see the sign “TreeHoppers.” The woods then greet you with some beautiful scenery. What is hidden in those woods? What wonders can one achieve once entering the woods? Can I challenge myself in those woods. The answer?  An amazing site that answers yes to everything. Welcome to TreeHoppers!!!!  It is now open for business.

On Tuesday morning Benjamin Nagengast took the podium and gave a short speech welcoming us to TreeHoppers and explaining what an ariel adventure park is all about. One does not need to hear, but just look around, and an ariel adventure park speaks for itself. Shortly afterward, Dade City Mayor Camille Hernandez cut the ribbon and TreeHoppers was now official for business. What happens next is up to you. Climb? Zip-line? Do some tight-rope walking? Walk along a wooden braidge made of logs? Why not all of the above?

TreeHoppers has over 100 elements to it randing from yellow courses to the more challenging black diamonds. The staff is very attentive to detail so your own safety is never an issue to yourself, but only to them. There is a small training course to learn how to use the equipment and then you are on your own. If you never done this type of thing before, start at a yellow or green course? A professional climber, then a blue or the daunted black diamond may be your cup of tea. Upon talking to the staff, I was told the double black diamond was only attempted once by the general public in it’s sneak peak opening.

In an interview with CEO Benjamin Nagengast, he said that TreeHoppers is for everyone from 5 to 95. There are very simple courses where you are close to the ground and the more challenging course that have you up high challenging your senses as well as your skills on an ariel course. The equipment is so designed that is it virtually impossible to unhook yourself once up on the course. You either need to complete it, take an escape route, or be “rescued” by one of the well-trained staff to leave the course and unhook. Safety is paramout to the staff, as well as fun. One you try it, you will want to keep coming back over and over.

Benjamin also touched on the Halloween project Scream-A-Geddon that will be opening in late September. He says that this scare park “will be on the extreme side.”  60 acres of woods?  What can happen in the dark in the woods?  I cannot wait to find out myself.
