Legoland’s Brick Or Treat: A Review
In the year of 2020 where we see theme parks close for months, concerts non-existent, and the inability to go to a restaurant at times, we find we are starving for something fun to do with our kids. Yes, we are playing with them at home with no school, but it is not the same thing. The CDC is recommending no trick-or-treat. What do you do? You go to Legoland Florida for Brick Or Treat.
Legoland has been adamant about how safe their park is since reopening. They should be, our children are going there. After attending, I want to put it out front ….. Legoland Florida is the safest park I have experienced since visiting theme parks on reopening. The virtual queue’s are a pain at times, but they are the added element needed to keep the cluster of people in the lines which was a welcome relief I am not seeing in other parks. Masks are not required when walking outside, but the social distancing was well-adhered too with the limited capacity in the park. Masks are required in buildings and on rides, and the employees are good at enforcing that rule in a kind manner.
CLEANLINESS A
Brick or Treat is totally AWESOME in a park with limited capacity. Not only were we able to ride everything, but we were able to experience the Halloween activities Legoland was offering for Brick or Treat. This was the child’s first visit to Legoland and he wants to come back over and over and over again. It really did not matter it was Halloween themed, that was just a bonus.
The Brick or Treat offered many things that is fun for the child and adults both. There is trick or treating which was done in a very safe manner. Candy was dropped through a long tube where you had your bag at the bottom to receive it. Your child can even dress up to realize the excitement of the event, and all treats!!!! Sadly, there were lines here where social distancing was an issue at times, but that was the only concern I had through the day.
Legoland also has a diorama you can help build. This was a fun thing knowing you are a part of this huge undertaking. I admire the lego masters that developed this out and brought it to life. The pieces of legos for the diorama is handed to you in a plastic bag so you are the first to touch them. The two shows The Groovin Graveyard and A Candy-Coated Curse are also a welcome relief that allows you to sit down and just relax while watching.
The best thing of all is meeting the lego characters. We all know it is a child’s dream to meet a lego character. It is so nice to see that there is no disappointment in doing so, either. True, you will not be arms around or hugging the character, but legoland has set up these meet and greets very nicely to get everyone in the picture as well as keeping the social distancing to keep it all safe.
Brick or Treat is a welcome addition to Legoland during Halloween and a much needed escape from today’s realities we are facing as parents. It is also a tremendous relief for the children for they are facing a different world at school and their activities which should be all fun. Overall I am rating Legoland Florida for:
BRICK OR TREAT A- (The lack of near-perfect score is the crowding of lines at trick or treat stations, but we did go on first weekend so I am sure Legoland has that under control now)
