Light Up The Night In A Winter Wonderland
About 30 years ago I remember visiting Florida to see my grandparents around the holidays. We went to Cypress Gardens (Now Legoland Florida) to see some Christmas Lights. I remember driving through these a trail on the side of a hill through this huge arrangement of lights. I never seen anything like that since …. until now. I was able to preview the drive-through experience of the Wonderland of Lights. This brought back memories of that drive with my grandparents which was really special since it was the 3rd anniversary of my grandfather’s passing that evening.
The Wonderland of Lights is about a mile long drive-through experience where there are many, many Christmas lights to enjoy with your family. It is an enjoyable non-pressure drive that takes place at the Hillsborough County Fair. Most of all, it is a SAFE Christmas experience. You can stay in the safety of your vehicle for the entire experience, or get out and take pictures of even pose. It is an immense spectacular display that really has something for everyone.
Is it something I would recommend? Absolutely!!!! There is not much out there now that you can do as a family and not worry. This is perfect. There is a Santa’s Village you can visit afterwards which has food, camels, wolves, and even Santa. Though it is not necessary. I brought my mom along for the preview and it was a very enjoyable slow 15-20 minute drive really just enjoying and talking about the lights.
Wonderland of Lights charges by the car and not the individual which really makes it an affordable family affair. The cost starts as low as $15 for the car load (weekday drive not including Santa’s Village). On weekends there is added live entertainment which is included within your price. Wonderland of Lights opens up on Thanksgiving Day and will be open nightly through December 27th. For more information, including the event schedule, or to get your tickets in advance simply go to Wonderland Of Lights website.
