A New Scare In Bradenton
Delirium Scares In Its Debut
If you are like me, you are always looking for that “big” scare during the Halloween season. We all go the major attractions year after year wishing, hoping, and praying this is the one. Alas, with a few exceptions we leave disappointed in not getting that “scare.” This year one such haunt has made its way to Bradenton and may be that “scare” you are looking for. It is called The Delirium Haunted Trail
Upon parking and seeing the entrance looming before you, you get the feeling that wow, this could be good. Belisa Mazzara will greet you at the entrance of this family owned and run haunt and you can tell while talking to her the pride that they have in their presentation. Belisa told me “This was her husband Alex Pineda’s dream and they made it possible this year.” They started last year scaring friends and were encouraged to go public the next year. Close to a year was spent clearing out the woods, building the props, and setting the stage for the scares that would make this walk safe, eerie, and scary.
The lighting throughout the haunt was just enough to ensure you do not get lost in the woods, and great in adding the ominous shadows that your body creates as you walk the trails. The evening I walked through was a windy night which added to the effect that I could not hear the footsteps I would listen for in such an attraction. The scares are well-placed and timed to make even the most resolute person jump. I myself jumped a total of 4 times. Unheard of in any haunted attraction I have gone to in a long while.
The scareactors are family and friends of family, yet, you would think they have been doing this for years. The scares are well-timed and placed in such a manner I guarantee someone in your group will scream. Yes, there is a killer clown and a cemetary too. The wonderful thing is, the trail is long enough that it really is unpredictable when the scares are going to come. The Pineda family has created a success and I see this to grow in popularity year after year as the word spreads. I look forward to visiting Delirium next Halloween already……after I make another visit this year.
On my 5 SKULL rating system, 1 (being child friendly) to 5 (extremely scary). I give this attraction a 4 1/2 SKULLS. I have no doubt this haunt will be a full 5 after making adjustments to what I call their “learning year.” I applaud the family and friends that are all part of this operation and let you know……..YOU HAVE A SUCCESS!!!!!
The Delirium Haunted Trail is located about 4 miles from ST RT 64 and I75 for easy access. It is located at 157 Upper Manatee River Rd. There is a police car at the driveway to help keep you from passing it. The admission is a low $10. That is a bargain!!!! It is worth much more. They do limit the crowds that go through at one time to enhance the “scare” experience. Any questions you have you can visit their Facebook Page. The Delirium haunted Trail will be open Oct 23-25 and Oct 29-31.
Currently on Twitter I am giving away two pairs of tickets, courtesy of Delirium Haunted Trail, for you to get your “scare” on.

It was the most amazing and scariest experience of my life!!!! We traveled from Miami
I drove 3 1/2 Hrs. From St. Augustine, Fl ( one of the most hunted places in America so you have to do a lot to impress me) with my children . The experience was frightening fun! You walk thru a trail deep in a forest of Palmettoes and real Florida wilderness . The cast of your own shadows, the natural creepy sounds of the night plus all the special effects will give you the chills and will make up jump and run for dear life…Well worth the drive and the money! Be back next year!
