Where does one go to have their fortune told, visit a haunted house, take a walk through the woods, and then take a hayride through the woods, and finally…….after such a tiring day sit at a campfire and make some s’mores. I could tell you many places you can do some of those things, but only one place where you can do all of that. Welcome to Scream-A-Geddon!!!!  This is a new scare park debuting this year that has potential to be a heavy player in years to come. What the evil, demented minds brought us this year is sure to scare even the seasoned “scare” enthusiast and is now on my list to visit it in years to come.

Scream-A-Geddon is a new scare park North of Tampa near Dade City that specializes in fear. You can get tickets as low as $20 and enjoy everything as many times as you can handle. This park may be small, but packs a lot in action and scares. Thanks to limiting admission (so get your tickets early) there is no hassle of the 2 hour lines or the conga line going through each house. Scream-A-Geddon has a personal feel to it as if the owners know why you are there and want you to enjoy it….while scaring you.

The Monster Midway is the hub of all the action where you can relax by a firepit drinking your favorite beverage and making some s’mores. There is also a tent with a Tarot card reader and a gift shop to allow you to take home a memory of this unique adventure. The houses themselves take elements of what you may have seen anywhere else and improved upon them. Limiting the amount of people that go through at one time helps tremendously in the intimate chills you feel. Like past years I give skull ratings of 1 (child friendly) to 5 (extremely scary) to the various houses and will do so again with Scream-A-Geddon.

Bedlam 3D may feel like the standard 3d house you go through upon entering. After I walked through I was amazed at the combination of 3d effects with real scares. This house was masterfully done to fool your perceptions and keep the hairs of your neck arisen in the darkness. 4 SKULLS.  Infected takes you through a military outpost, a house, and yes, a school bus for a unique experience of an indoor/outdoor haunted house. Without giving anything away, I really thought the ending was brilliantly done. 3 SKULLS  Pandemic will be the guest favorite as it was mine. you can choose to get yourself “Marked” before entering. Once you do you are on your own. You may lose your group, you may get lost, you may be stuck in a chair with someone trying to pull …….. well, you get it. This is the house you want to go through to get a personal experience you WILL NOT see at the other locations. Be warned, do not mark yourself if you do not like to be touched. 5 SKULLS IF MARKED; 4 SKULLS AS AN OBSERVER.

The outdoor house Dead Woods has you walking through the pitch black woods with one glow light for your small group. This house is great with misdirection. I look and say no one is there then they appear right there. Darkness is a haunted woods best friend. 4 SKULLS BECAUSE OF THE PITCH BLACKNESS WITH LITTLE LIGHT. The Cursed Hayride will give you a tractor pulled hayride throught the woods with its own unique offerings of scares. 3 SKULLS NOT VERY SCARY, BUT AN AWESOME RELAXATION ON A HAYRIDE  Scream-A-Geddon has proven you do not need the huge budget of a theme park to make a successful scare park.

Scream-A-Geddon is operating from Oct 14 – Nov 1 on thursdays through Sundays.  Because they limit attendance to this park it is highly recommended to order your tickets in advance. Scream-A-Geddon  is located int he same area where Treehoppers off of 27839 Old Saint Joe Rd in Dade City. This gives you the opportunity to enjoy a day climbing the trees and an evening getting scared under the trees. Scream-A-Geddon has been voted best newcomer in USA’s Best Haunted Houses.
