Disney Dared to Dream on Ice, and ……..
Disney On Ice came back to Tampa to Amalie Arena this past Thursday with shows through the weekend. This imagining is called Dare to Dream and featured tales from Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Frozen, and the debut of Moana on the ice.
This show really struck me with a couple of things. It was masterfully produced. The order of the chapters in the show worked perfectly. We are teased with the classic tale of Belle and Beauty and the Beast. Next we see the fairy godmother help out Cinderella at the ball. Then the first act is finished with Rapunzel’s tale.
After the intermission the big fan favorites are brought out with Elsa and Anna telling their tale of restoring the summer to Arendale. Finally, the story of Moana is told. This second act really brought the engagement of the viewers, adult and children alike. It was evident by the show Disney is on the
right track in their presentation of their new stories and how the classics still hold strong.
Disney on Ice is engaging and fun to watch. Me, who knew not one song from Rapunzel or Moana enjoyed the tale as it was being told. I also had a mom of a 1 yr old explaining the story to me where she felt it might fill the missing holes in my understanding. Yes, it worked. That is another thing that these tales on ice bring, is people together to experience it together.
Disney On Ice: Dare to Dream will be playing at Amalie Arena through Sunday, March 24th and I do recommend taking your young one to see it and share the experience with them together.
