Florida State Fair All Family Fun

The Florida State Fair opened on Feb 7th and looks to be 12 days of family fun.  I went on Saturday to experience the fair and cannot wait to head back sometime before it closes up for the year. It is chock full of entertainment, rides, and food and games that it is almost impossible to see everything in 1 day. I would challenge anyone to see everything, including the shows in three days.
Of course there are the rides galore, fried food of anything you can imagine, and the crafts throughout the buildings, but this year’s fair has to spotlight the shows. I was impressed with what was brought this year above and beyond the standard shows we see at the fair every year. The Demolition Derby was brought back for 2 nights much to the delight of a full grandstand again. There was also music throughout that brought a feeling of relaxation as you walked about. I ended up taking a walk throughout the fair doing nothing but smelling the food (with a couple of stops for my favorites) and listening to the sounds that made the evening fun.
As a Ringling fan, I was delighted to see Bello Nock, and his daughter Annaliese performing at the fair. The stars of America’s Got Talent was there to wow us on the sway pole way up in the sky. Annaliese then took on the Wheel of Death before Bello did. You will also see that daring human cannonball over the helicopter. This show is worth the admission to the fair in itself, and one I would highly recommend you do not miss with 3 shows daily.
Another good show is Tyzen the Comedy Hypnotist from Vegas. If you love watching people being hypnotized and doing things they normally would not, and enjoy laughing, and maybe getting a hug from a stranger ….. then this show is not to be missed. Tyzen is good at what he does and very good at explaining it to the audience too. Volunteer!!!!!  I did.

These are just a few highlights of the fair, but one of the things you MUST DO if you are going is to ride the Big Wheel!!!!!  Enjoy the lights of the fair in the evening way up high. Not a site to miss for sure. The fair will be running until Feb 18th and there is much much more to see. Go to the Florida State Fair Website to see what is on the agenda for the day and the times that it is happening. Also buy your tickets and ride armbands online and not only do you save time from avoiding the lines …. you save money too!!!!! More money to enjoy at the 2019 Florida State Fair!!!!!
