IFLY has come to Tampa and it is sure to stay. I went to visit IFLY recently and try my hand at skydiving indoors before I go free falling from over 1000 feet. Upon entering, this establishment is world-class in customer service. Every employee encountered is very helpful in explaining and making sure you understand all steps and procedures that are taking place during your experience. They will even answer non-participants questions, which is great for parents. The check-in was easy with a computer for your waiver to fill out. After all of that, you go into the main room and watch others as you await your turn.

When our flight instructor got us all together you go into a little room to watch a short video on how to make your experience most successful. The flight instructor is there at all times for safety. IFLY does supply the suits, helmets and goggles, which are great for photos. They also encourage you to support, cheer, and high-five your fellow flyers as they leave the tunnel.

You are in flight 2 times for about 60 seconds. There are options where you can extend the time as well as fly high at the end of your time. The 60 seconds does simulate the free fall time before a parachute is pulled as if you were skydiving from a real plane. I found it is almost impossible to fall onto the floor. The flight instructors are also very good to keep you from flying into the walls also. Pay attention to the hand signals you learned in the video and it will be a very fun flight.

This is an ingenious and safe activity for those that want to skydive and are scared of heights, or just do not want to jump out of a plane. IFLY does take pictures and videos of your flight session for a nominal fee that are really professional looking. Bystanders can also take pictures or videos outside of the tube. I found out that the pictures from the outside are just not as good as a quality to take in comparison to theirs. In final, this is an excellent fun activity that could be used for personal or family entertainment. It is also a great idea for birthday parties (which they do have rooms for) and team building with co-workers. It is also very affordable to try once never knowing if you may like it or not (Cannot imagine you never liking). One thing I would note, if doing it as a family and wanting to take pictures with your personal camera or phone, you should schedule your sessions apart from each other as they do not allow cameras in the tube area. Also remember, professional pictures and video are available also.

This is a new experience for me and is very easy to rate. I give this experience a high 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it for everyone out there. I actually plan on going back again sometime to see if my ability has actually improved!!!!!
