Disney on Ice was Magical

If something survives 100 years, no matter what it may be….. It means someone did something right. Disney is no exception to the rule. Last night was the premiere of Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic in Tampa at Amalie Arena and it was a performance that will be memorable.

How would I put it?  Well, I will let you see the faces of the boys for whom This type of performance is catered to and that will show you everything one needs to know in a review …..

Robert and Thomas, twins whom are seeing Disney on Ice for the very first time, basically said it was AWESOME!!!!  That should be all we need (but I will review it more).
This year’s edition is from a first time goer in me, so I have nothing in the past to compare it with. Of course you have your beginning and ending with the face of Disney, namely  Mickey Mouse. 100 Years of Magic is a story of Donald and Goofy wanting to make a movie. They are getting their ideas from Mickey and Minnie based upon the Classic Disney stories of the far past to the near present. Appearances were aplenty in Disney on Ice this year. All of the Disney Princesses were present for the girls to admire and lots of Aladdin genies and Toy Story soldiers for the boys to imitate.
Frozen was definitely the focal of this show, which was surely not to any disappointment of the audience based upon the cheers of the young crowd. Silence was even present in the arena as a fan favorite (or child favorite) song stared to be sung by Elsa.
Not to be outdone, Woody and Sam from Toy Story also got to relieve their friendship as best friends to the rousing cheers from the boys. There were a lot of songs from the Disney Library of 50 years ago to present. The selection from the movies were carefully chosen and had everyone singing, humming, and rocking to the tunes. When Rafiki made his appearance in the spotlight we were put on notice that the Lion king would soon be here and was what made it obvious how Disney on Ice and Disney in general has thrived for so long
Disney on Ice is a wonderful show this year and this writer definitely recommends it to children of all ages to see. It will be showing this weekend at Amalie Arena through May 15th and tickets are still available at ticketmaster. The show is also set up that there really isn’t any bad seats in the arena which was suprisingly nice to see.
The one thing I would recommend as a family is get your food, drinks and bathroom visits done before the show. My only critique was that there was very little time during intermission to do anything. With a crowd of young children I really believe another 5 minutes could have been very useful. The gift shops and food were very well placed so that there was not much walking to get anywhere, which I give a lot of credit too Feld and Amaile Arena in their placements.

I give Disney on Ice 100 Years of Magic a 4 stars out of 5 and highly recommend to see. Problem is, I am an adult, so the real recommendation will come from the twin boys that saw it last evening. IT WAS AWESOME!!!! I WANNA SEE IT AGAIN. 10 STARS OUT OF 5!!!!!  Do I need to say anymore?  Enjoy the show.
