Can You Escape the Challenge?
You are arrested for stealing a national treasure. You and your friends know that you will be receiving a very long sentence for this crime. The warden has left the area ….. what do you do? Of course, you need to escape.
Escape rooms, which originated in Japan has been taking the world by storm. It has become a very popular activity in Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States. The escape room is a fully immersive entertainment game where teams of 2-8 people are “locked” in a room and must use discover clues, solve puzzles, and use critical thinking to escape “the room.” The rooms have various themes such as breaking out of a jail and must be accomplished in a set time to succeed.
Brent Alexander, the CEO of Houdini Partner Group, says that “Our goal is to make this a premium experience. We want to be more like the Disney of escape room attractions. We are excited to see how the public will respond to this unique concept that is taking the world by storm.” They are taking the U.S. by storm. Currently Escape Countdown is in Atlanta and locally in Tampa and Sarasota.
As mentioned, the themes currently being used is a jailbreak, where you must escape the jail as well as hack into the computer to erase any evidence of your existence. Other themes include traveling and falling through a deep dark tunnel and into the midst of a tea party. You must find clues to find the door to home away from the Mad Hatter’s domain. There are also new themes being developed and added to keep something fresh for newcomers and repeats adventurers.
