Anderson’s Take Monster Jam Tampa 2016
The Anderson’s Rule Tampa Monster Jam
A few weeks ago in the confines of Raymond James Stadium Adam Anderson showed that he can rule the arena in any truck named Grave Digger. A longtime driver of Grave Digger the Legend, who was traded to the original Grave Digger truck this season, Adam wow’d the crowd and took home the freestyle championship.
On Feb 6th, which was a wet, rainy and cold day in Tampa. The weather did not keep the crowds away and it surely did not keep the drivers from performing at their best. After learning how to drive in the muddy conditions, the Dragon set the time to beat with the fastest qualifying time of 32.854 seconds. Not to be outdone, Scott Liddycoat beat Chad Tingler in Alien Invasion in the finals to claim the racing part of Monster Jam that evening.
In the crowd you knew this was going to be a special night for Monster Jam. Even though Madusa could not participate due to an injury, the girls were well represented. Nicole Johnson took Scooby-Doo in the donut phase and asked the question? There is mud here? Where other drivers were finding it difficult to do donuts in the mud, Nicole found the secret formula and circled herself to victory. not only that, she proved to be in the hot seat for the freestyle portion most of the show. Dedicating her performance to injured Madusa, Nicole just waited for a truck to step up and take that seat from her.
I asked Ryan Anderson during the pit party “Are we going to see a back flip from you tonight?” Ryan smiled and answered “I sure will try, if I do not wreck first.” That was a precursor to show us, Ryan was going to go for it all. Yes he did. Ryan took Son-Uva Digger high flying through the mud an over the cars and did what everyone was waiting to see. He lined up for that back flip. He was successful and then bounced onto his side, but that was all he needed. Not even Grave Digger could surpass Ryan and he pocketed the freestyle championship and made sure Tampa was owned by the Anderson name for 2016.
