Ferg’s Premier’s RATT in New Concert Series
Where did you go to party before and after the lightning played back when they were in the Suncoast Dome? What about when the Tampa Bay Storm played in the same location. Now it is Tropicana Field, home of the Rays. The question is, what is the premiere party stop for a baseball fan to warm up before the game, or actually watch the Rays if not going to the game? Easy …. that would be Ferg’s Sports Bar.
This gas station turned sports bar was a vision of Mark Ferguson that has grown well beyond his dreams. This is a huge venue that has and can play host to private parties, tailgating parties, fundraising activities, pep rallies, and a whole lot more. Now Ferg’s Sports Bar has added a new tradition that looks like it is here to stay after it’s successful debut Friday night. Why not add weekly concerts from well known bands. It started last Friday, November 6th with L.A. Guns, Warrant, and RATT. It did not disappoint.
My return to the 80’s was well received by myself and the multitude of fans that showed up that evening. L.A. Guns traveled from the west coast to start the entertainment from the evening. once the crowd was warmed up Warrant took the stage, and they did sound good. Already I was at my high school dance listening to the music that ruled the day back then. Finally, RATT, not performing in Florida in 15 years, ended the night with a set that had the crowd wanting more, including myself. Do not believe? Listen for yourself …..
Mark Ferguson said the concert series is an addition that plans to be around (working around the baseball schedule, of course) for a while. There is already a great variety of talent coming to this venue in the upcoming weeks. Blue Oyster Cult, John Michael Montgomery, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Quiet Riot, Saliva, and much much more. Asked about if there is a future for Fergs ……. mark responds yes there is. They have a location open right across from Amelie Arena as well as a location opening in Orlando in the Church Street area very soon
Fergs is not all about sports and concerts though. They do have food. They are known for their wings and sauces. Do not know what one to try though? That is ok, just ask one of the servers to recommend her favorite. Trish, the bar manager, who has worked for Fergs for 21 years, served me up a Sesame Sriracha and teriyaki sauce on wings and I savored every bite.
Fergs is a location that sports fans in the Tampa Bay area know of, but it is a hidden gem for everyone else that will be exposed as the concert series takes a firm hold in this sports bar ongoing history. For further information about Fergs just visit their website. You can also see a list of upcoming concerts as well as purchase your tickets from that same page. Just visit Fergs personally, when you do not have the concert crowd, and purchase your tickets without a service fee (cash only)and really enjoy the food and service intimately.
