The Real Music Series Kicks off at Busch Gardens

The Real Music Series Starts off 2016
Every year Busch Gardens gets to bring a very popular event to Stanleyville Theater and 2016 is no different. This event is called The Real Music Series. This weekly series traditionally starred singers/bands that were huge in the 60’s or 70’s. These beloved artists would then perform for us 3 shows daily a week at a time. Like always, the lineup is HUGE this year also.
Starting Jan 4 – Jan 9 is Ricky Nelson remembered. Featuring the twin sons of Ricky Mathew and Gunnar Nelson.
Ricky Nelson, who started his young career on the The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. He grew so popular as a teen idol on that show that in it’s later years it ended with a song or two by Ricky. Ricky nelson was so popular that in 1958-1959 he had 12 songs on the charts compared to Elvis Presley’s 11. in his career he performed memorable hits suck as Garden PartyHello Mary-LouI’m Walkin, and Poor Little Fool. Sadly, we lost Ricky to a plane crash in 1985.
Mathew and Gunnar Nelson continues their father’s music by performing his hits to the adult teen fans. They are wonderful to hear:
The Real Music Series is FREE with park admission, but you must have a ticket to get into Stanleyville Theater. Tickets can be found by the front gate in the Moroccan Plaza for the 11:30am show. There will also be a tent outside of the Stanleyville Theater where you can get tickets for all of the shows.
Show times are at 11:30am, 1:30pm, and 3:30pm. History dictates to be early if wanting to see the first show of any concert that is part of the Real Music Series.
If unable to see Ricky Nelson Remembered, Busch gardens also has The Platters performing in the Dragon Fire Grill at 12:45pm and 2:15pm. The Platters are known for The Great PretenderOnly You, and Smoke Gets In Your Eyes (which is the first karaoke song I ever performed by the way).
A lot of music coming your way at Busch Gardens the next few months especially when the Wine and Food Festival kicks off on March 5th.
